ESPN analyst Marcellus Wiley has been in the news lately for his comments on various situations in the NFL.
Wiley, the former Pro Bowl player and Columbia University grad, stated on Sunday that the Pittsburgh Steelers might cut cornerback Anthony Smith for talking too much. Smith guaranteed a victory against the undefeated New England Patriots.
Wiley said that if he were one of Smith's teammates, he would "take him to the showers and beat him up a little bit".
Two weeks ago, Wiley said that NFL players were targets, which was the primary reason for the murders of Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor and Denver Broncos defensive back Darrent Williams. However, Kansas City Star columnist Jason Whitlock disagreed and mentioned Wiley's comments in a very controversial column, in which he referenced the "Black KKK".
Wiley responded saying that Whitlock not only lacked tact and class, but was on the outside looking in, while Wiley, a resident of inner-city Los Angeles and Ivy League graduate, knew both sides of the fence. Wiley mentioned that he has had teammates that were murdered and that his comments about Taylor are based on his 10-year NFL experience.
Wiley is a football analyst now on ESPN for shows such as "NFL Countdown" and "ESPN First Take".

Top 100 Schools in the U.S
2 schools ranked in nation's top 100
U.S. News & World Report has released a survey that ranks two Eastside schools among the nation's top 100 public high schools.
Kirkland's International Community School is ranked 17th on the list, and Newport High School is 44th.
The Kirkland school, which is part of Lake Washington School District, serves 380 students in seventh through 12th grade.
Newport High School, in the Bellevue district, serves about 1,570 students in ninth through 12th grade. About 75 percent of its 12th-graders and 73 percent of its 11th-graders are enrolled in Advanced Placement classes.
The magazine analyzed 18,790 public high schools in 40 states using data from the 2005-06 school year. It looked at reading- and math-test results for all students on each state's standardized high-school test, and it also took into account how disadvantaged students performed on the test.
